Expatiate Communications Web Developer InternshipExpatiate Communications is a leader in special education, redefining the way special education programs are designed and delivered. By leveraging data and technology, we focus on improving academic outcomes and providing equitable access to all students. We develop and implement innovative and sustainable special education programs for Education Agencies, charter schools, families, schools, districts, and County Offices of Education.This unpaid internship is focused on providing educational and professional development aligned with academic and professional goals. It accommodates academic schedules, offers hands-on training, and complements rather than replaces paid employee work. The internship is limited to a maximum of three months and does not guarantee or imply entitlement to a paid job upon completion.Location: On-Site | Pasadena, CAEmployment Type: Internship (Unpaid)Job Type: Unpaid Internship (there is no expectation of compensation)Duration: Up to Three (3) months. (The Internship is conducted without entitlement to a paid job after the consultation of the internship.)Internships are limited to the period in which the internship provides the intern with beneficial learning to the extent to which the internship is tied to the intern's formal education program.Due to the nature of the work and access to educational student data, interns must pass a satisfactory Live Scan background check and provide TB clearance to proceed with the internship. (all associated costs for the Live Scan and TB clearance are the intern's responsibility.)As a Web Developer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience developing modern web applications while working alongside experienced software developers. This internship provides practical exposure to full-stack development, cloud technologies, database design, API development, and modern front-end frameworks. Interns will contribute to real-world projects while building technical and professional skills.During this internship, you will have the opportunity to:Assist in developing web applications using C#,.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Svelte.Support database development with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MongoDB.Help build and test RESTful APIs using Postman and Swagger.Learn authentication, version control, and deployment using JWT, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure.Convert Figma designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces.Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and collaborate with the development team.Write clean, maintainable code while assisting with debugging and testing.Learn modern software development tools, best practices, and cloud technologies through hands-on projects.Preferred Qualifications:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.Familiarity with at least one programming language such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Interest in learning full-stack web development.Familiarity with SQL databases is preferred.Exposure to Git or version control systems is a plus.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to a collaborative development environment.This is an unpaid internship intended to provide educational and hands-on learning experience.
